"We don't deserve this planet."
hen
contemplating the contents of this article, I heard this statement by a
CBC radio program host.
He had exclaimed this as a final comment to the guest speaker who, as
an architect, was discussing how foolishly large and grandiose our
domestic dwellings have become. It was the architect's belief that human
beings have deteriorated to the point at which we are abusing the earth,
our Mother Earth, simply to demonstrate our wealth and our success.
"EXACTLY", I thought, and my head instantly filled
with words for this article!
The Earth is not ours, although we somehow believe it to be ours to
use and abuse. Mother Earth has given us the greatest gift, the most
thoughtful gift, that of herself in all of her glory, and what have we
done?
"This earth is my sister; I love her daily grace, her silent
daring, and how loved I am, how we admire this strength in each other ,
all that we have lost, all that we have suffered, all that we know. We
are stunned by the beauty and I do not forget: what she is to me, what I
am to her." Susan Griffin
What has happened?
Let us take a look at the 4 aspects of the community - politics,
economics, social order, and culture. When in balance our economic
philosophy is that of sharing; our political philosophy is honesty; our
social perspective is caring; and our cultural philosophy is that of
respect. We can create this situation when our actions are based in
"love".
When our actions are "fear based", we create imbalance in
the world. Our economic philosophy is greed; our political philosophy
becomes dishonesty; our social perspective is selfishness and lack of
caring; and our cultural philosophy is disrespect.
When we stand on this earth we are standing upon our Mother. Every
cell in our body is created out of the tissue of the earth. We share
this earth with billions of other tiny microorganisms. The human body is
covered, fed, and supported by Mother Earth. Our clothes are produced
from the plants and oils of the earth. Our food is a gift from Mother
Earth. Creatures of the earth give their flesh so that we can live.
It is time to recognize Mother Earth for her abundance and her
generosity. It is time to return to the basic principles of humanity and
release the arrogance that causes us to take from our Mother.
How can we heal Mother Earth?
Collectively, as human beings, as life forms, as energy sources, we
have tremendous healing power. But first we must heal ourselves so that
we are then freely able to give of ourselves completely, in love, not in
fear.
Health/disease or balance/imbalance starts in the spiritual
(energetic) realm and descends into the body. Energy moves from the less
dense to the more dense, with thoughts and feelings being less dense and
words and actions most dense. It is important to consider thoughts and
feelings as the energetic road of health or disease. When we address the
spiritual aspects of disease, we are seeking to alleviate the disease by
correcting the energetic patterns at the source of the illness.
When we create our reality from fear our prayers are for things - to
look good, to have great wealth. When we pray for things we see
God/Creator/Great Spirit as a parent and want reality to be fair, safe,
and good based on a physical world model. Thinking and praying in this
form blocks guidance because we are saying, "I will only accept
what comes in the way I am expecting it to come". The result is
that we short change ourselves.
If we are creating in love with faith we are making a statement to
guidance that "I know/I believe you have my best interest at heart;
however it may look". This type of prayer frees us from the
confines of the should(s) of the mind and allows us to receive the
miracles of spirit beyond space and time. Health/balance comes from a
positive, present relationship with our self. Self-esteem is based on
being able to trust our word to our self. A balanced person is one whose
thoughts, feelings, words and actions are all in agreement. This is the
basis for energetic medicine, which is by definition beyond space and
time and facilitates awareness in the present.
